Knowing GOd is MORE Than Just Knowing Him (9/12/06)

Proverbs 9:10-12
The FEAR of the Lord is the BEGINING OF WISDOM,
For through me (Wisdom) your days will be many,
ANd years will be added to your Life.
If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you;
If you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.

I have read these verses a lot of times before, However, the Lord revealed something fresh to me, as I read thesm in my devotion this morning. As I read the Life Application notes of the verses, the Lord gave me a clearer understanding of these verses.
Wisdom begins with knowing God, for "the Lord brought wisdom forth as the first of His works, from the beginning, before the world began." (Prov 8:22-23) Therefore to know the Lord = knowing wisdom.
Since God is the creator of all things - the whole world, the heavens and the deep (Prov 8:22-31), living things and everything - He knows the functions and the ways to all things, situations and circumstances.
He is just like the MASTER of the creation of this world and He holds the manual book of all creation on this world and galaxies. Just like the manufacturer of a e.g. car, who knows how a car works and functions, how every parts of the car are connected to each other; where the problems arises when the car breaks down and how to fix the problems.
We'll view this at the bigger picture where God is the creator of this world and only He knows how everything and everyone works..... ups and downs, happiness and sorrows etc.
Therefore to know God is not just to know the facts about Him, but He also gives us insights (wisdom) into living because He created life. "For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth come Knowledge and understanding" (Prov 2:6).
Therefore it was said in Prov 23:23 to buy the truth and do not see it; get wisdom, discipline and understanding, which encouraged us to invest into obtaining wisdom...... and the truth shall set you free (from the bondage of this world).

Do you really want to be wise?
Get to know God better!
